A2 MEDIA STUDIES

Louis Humphrey

2016 - 2017

This website is dedicated to all my work relating to the advanced A2 course. Including all ancillaries, research, planning and final products, as well as my evaluation and blog, which is updated regularly.

It is divided into these sections on the site to clearly show the differnent stages of my work and the progress I have made. I will be showing information directly relevant to the project on thos site, as well as processes that I have been throguh to complete the project whereas the blog segment will display more information, in a much more informal way. It will be updated regularly so the times in which we have done things is clear.

There are thirteen different briefs available to choose from for this coursework, including; a film trailer, a music video, a television trailer or a level of a new computer game, naming just a few. Each brief must be completed with two ancillaries, that must be completed individually, to acompany the main piece.

The two briefs I was most interested in creating were a short film and a music video. I like being able to have complete creative control over a short film however, I believe doing a music video will give my group a more specific theme and therefore we can spend less time thinking of an idea and more time creating a more professional and high quality piece. My brief choice and justification has its own page.

For the main project I will working in a group of three with Ethan Hines and Liam McDonough-Brown. Everyone works well with each other and I believe that each member of the group has a skill set beneficial for the project to be successful. Both are very creative and are musicians, so I think that will be very helpful during the brainstorming stage and when editing or producing any audio.

Liam is able to have creative, thoughtful ideas which should give the narrative or performance original elements. Ethan is also very creative and has a wide range of skills we will be able to[ use to ensure the product is a success.

Below are the dates and deadlines I have for completing the production stages, handing in the final products and for the evaluation:
