Locations.

As there are multiple shots there are a variety of different locations that we will be filming in. It is important to plan ahead what locations we are thinking about using so that we can see if they're appropriate, whether we will need permission, if they are safe, if we need to plan transportation, etc. I have split the locations section into two; narrative elements and performance elements.

Performance

There are two main locations for this project which show the band progressing from a recording in a studio, to playing live on stage. We plan on using the school stage for the latter as it is easy to get to (we can film during school) and it has light and sound equipment that we can use, particularly the lights that can be used to create more energy and make the shots look as if they were really filmed at a gig. We will also probably use videos we have already taken at previous gigs. Again, we will be in school to film the studio shots as we can use the music department, this is helpful as we will already have the props we need to use in there, such as the guitars and amps, so no setting up is required, however, we do have to be careful to avoid any objects that may make it look like a school, such as posters and the whiteboard.

Narrative

There are three primary locations that will be used for the filming of these shots; the bench where Zak, the main character, collects his apples for a 'dealer', the bench where he eventually passes out and the alleyway where he eats as many apples as he can. We have two ideas as to where we can film these shots, in Collis Park and Mote Park, which are both walking distance from the school so are very accessible and can be filmed in, in school times making filming and refilming, if needed, much easier. Although the locations seem simple we chose them because our narrative focuses on the actions of the characters and the props rather than the background, making codes of dress, casting and props so much more important.
